Anybody going to Cinec in Munich next month (Sept. 22nd - 24th)?

Work prevented me from going to IBC in Amsterdam this weekend, but I'll try and get to Munich, that's about 3 hours drive, way better then the 7 up to Amsterdam.

Tiffen, Transvideo, Anton Bauer, etc are in attendance...

Any local ops going to be there?

Any recommendations for Hotels?

Anybody?

Fly safe,

Erwin

I will be filming in Budapest. I am hoping to get a weekend to get down to Munich. I missed it last year, but have been there pretty regularly.

It does coincide with the Oktoberfest (Which starts in September !!??)

I know Markus Kuballa (Berlin based) will be there, and maybe Benjamin Treplin (also Berlin based)

while you are in Munich tell the Arri engineers to fix the frappin Alexa eyepiece! It sucks balls.

It sure does. Keeps falling off all the time

The request to change that is already on my complaint list for cinec.

As far as meeting up. I'll be there on the 23. and 24. I hope you can make it Sami. And Ben I would like to have a drink with you also since we didn't get to that after wrap a couple days ago. It would be really cool to meet you as well Erwin!

C U there!

The image looks horrible and out of focus, the connector is in a bad spot, the mounting bracketry blows and the diopter spins out of focus whenever you move/pan. Other than that it is fabulous.

I FINALLY got Arri to build a 90-90 cable for the eyepiece so that helps a bit. The Diopter can be tightened and that keeps it from spinning.

The image does suck and can be really sucky if you run 709 into it and it's dark, for those times I have the user two button set to toggle the viewfinder between 709 and LogC Raw

We are stuck with the mounting bracket, Holy hell it sucks to tight and you can't rotate the arm, too lose and it falls, Okay that makes sense and I can deal with it but to make the adjustment range 1/12000000th of a degree was really a cruel joke, almost as cruel as the eyepiece rotation lever which grabs my hat all the time.

set the finder to smooth mode, turn on peaking, connector is being fixed, bracket so-so, take a look at the F900 finder and be happy again...i'm sure they are working on the next generation
