Premium Members Thomas English Posted November 19, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 19, 2012 " We will also make a version to use with the Cinetronic monitor, which eliminates the pivot from the yoke spigot." Allow me to understand this correctly. You will make a version that doesn't use the PRO spigot? for the Cinetronic? This makes sense if I have understood it correctly. Would the two versions be interchangeable by just swapping a couple of bits out or would one need two whole monitor brackets. Is there a price yet on this monitor bracket? Premium Members chris bangma Posted November 19, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 19, 2012 The non pivoting arm will have a different end piece, that the clamp block will sit in, which prevents it from rotating. The clamp block will still have the normal spigot, so it can be used on a different monitor arm. It is just the end piece of the monitor arm that is different. Price for the monitor arm is $495. Premium Members Jon Beattie Posted November 23, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 Chris how about marrying the monitor onto the ultra 2 monitor mount Tiffen uses?
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted November 23, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 Jon, I talked to Mike Skipps months ago about doing that for my Ultra 1. I didn't like his solution cause it would have negated the ability to rotate the yolk. I think others have gone that route and been fine with it. I had an idea to make a piece sized for my rods that has a pro/xcs/cinetronic hole, but never had it made. It would be the same piece that the monitor mounts to on the XCS and Cinetronic monitor arms, just sized for Tiffen rods. I should have that made. Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted November 24, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 Tiffen rods are a hair under 16mm, and are a hair under 89mm apart (at least mine are), so if that's a hole for a Pro spud, then yes, that would probably work. I'm surprised Transvideo would make such a thing, but if it is what it more or less appears to be, that's perfect. Wish there was more info on the website, and pictures from another angle. I'll give them a call on monday. It looks like that hole is for one of these: http://www.transvideo.eu/en/Silver-Spigot which makes me wonder if it would fit the spud on a Pro/XCS/Cinetronic. When I got my Gen I, i was looking for a solution, but the only one I found, was to get a bracket made for the Tiffen rods, as they are slightly larger than 16 mm. Premium Members chris bangma Posted November 24, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 The Tiffen sleds are the main resaon we created the monitor arm. This will be the simplest and easiest way to attach the Cinetronic monitor to a tiffen sled. Also at a price of $495, it would also be one of the least expensive ways of attaching to the sled as well.
Premium Members James Baldanza SOC Posted November 24, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 I purchased 5/8 steel rod, tapped the center to 3/8 16. Cinetronic rotated the cross beam of the monitor yoke and repined it. Steve Fracol opened up the holes on the cross beam so everything lined up. Premium Members Jon Beattie Posted November 25, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2012 Of course. Fracol! Would really like to avoid changin my monitor mount and bracket. I get needed the New York but like the drop down and 2 mounting options the U2 bracket already uses.
