Does anyone have a good template for a sales contract to protect us both and make sure legally that shipment will be initiated when payment is received? B) Call me paranoid but when I bought my 2nd hand rig, I travelled from Istanbul to New Orleans in order to inspect it with my own eyes – the seller already have sent the rig to the manufacturer and got a “in good condition report” for it – and to bring it to my home myself. It’s a huge investment financially and mentally to buy your first big rig. I wouldn’t leave it to chance any aspect of the acquiring process. I don’t mean the seller will have bad intentions –it’s an unknown- but just be sure everything involving packaging and shipping will be done according to YOUR standards. And you cannot beat drinking a couple of beers and exchanging war stories with a fellow operator after you finalized the deal. There are some threads on here too about certain airlines having media rates for baggage. Not sure who still has that, but as I recall it's a pretty reduced rate for your gear.
