I’ve now upgraded, because I didn’t have the time to fix the issue this base had. So, you can get this thing for a great price, in exchange for you being willing to do a couple little repairs! This base is a PRO “1.5” base - it’s a PRO 1 base, which has been adapted to take a PRO 2 post (the new ones, with the quick release bayonet connectors). It has also had a custom-made Anton Bauer battery hanger attached to it. The battery plates all had diodes installed on them by Terry West. The circuit breakers are all under a year old as well. The wiring has also been changed slightly - the level connector, recorder connector, and playback/record switch have been removed, the 4 Pin Power/Video connector has been moved to the front of the base, and another 4 Pin Power/Video connector has been added to replace the recorder connector. It’s a very useful mod that allows you to power accessories or more modern 12v accessories, rather than being stuck with the 5v regulated recorder power, and the switch which can accidentally kill the signal to your monitor if you don’t use a recorder! The base has a few issues though. Namely, the big 8-Pin LEMO connector that connects to the post cable is gone. The connector failed, and I didn’t want to spend the time replacing it, so I bought a new base. My loss is your gain. Any competent electronics guru can have this fixed pretty easily, or you could do it yourself with a minimum of soldering skill (as I will be doing if it doesn’t sell). The wiring going from the base to that LEMO connector might be worth updating when you’re doing the connector as well, but it certainly works as-is. In terms of price, a PRO “1.5” base without the Anton Bauer mod recently sold for around $450, and the Anton Bauer mod makes this one much more usable for modern work (I’ve powered cameras off of it with no issues!), so I’m asking $550 for it, in the condition it is in now. If the LEMO were fixed, I’d be asking $750+.
