Premium Members Mitch Mommaerts Posted September 10, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 Hi fellow operators, Does anybody know where I could find gold mount stud plates (feel free to post a proper name should one exist). I've spent a good part of the day looking for some and came across one on ebay but it had wires coming out of it. Alen Rencher had posted a rather similar idea though he took it to the next level. http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=17700 For myself at this time I'd like to have a simple metal plate where I can cover the one side with velcro and the other side would have 3 gold mount studs so I can indirectly velcro stuff to my unused battery plates. Thank you very much, Mitch

Premium Members Tom Wills Posted September 10, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 Hey Mitch, I made a few up for myself and some other operators, and I think I still have some around. XCS's are nice aluminum plates, mine are just Delrin, but mine are cheaper and a bit lighter. If you want one of mine, PM me. Otherwise, XCS's are very nice. Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted September 10, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 I own some of both Tom's and the XCS ones. I'd trust the tapped holes on the aluminum XCS plates a bit more for weight but if you are going to just butter it with Velcro, then Tom's are great. Both are well made - just depends on your need. Premium Members Mitch Mommaerts Posted September 10, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) Thanks Alec, yes Tom's will work out just perfect for me at a fraction of the price too! Currently in discussions with him about getting some. Thanks again! Mitch Edited September 10, 2013 by Mitch Mommaerts
