Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted June 26, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2005 I just called Visa, these card numbers belong to two completely different people. It is a scam and Visa is aware of it. Steve <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why were you going to use them, or did you get caught? You get John his sled back? Till then you are not welcome here
Premium Members Jason Williams Posted June 26, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2005 Back to the original post.... I'd give Visa all the info that they've supplied, let them look at the fraud aspect. It does look like they've just copied and pasted what you've said in your email, I wouldn't get too involved personally, if you want to report them, try here : http://www.anti-spam.outblaze.com/ that's their email hosting company. Just my thoughts on this one ... they shouldn't be allowed a PC let alone, someone else's credit card details. Jason edit- just searched for "10 Balogun street" and this is what came back on MSN search - the bottom one looks familiar - it has the exact same address - http://search.msn.co.uk/results.aspx?q=%22...et%22&FORM=QBRE

Premium Members RobVanGelder Posted June 26, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2005 I was amazed that the ONE BIG SCAMMER that frequents this forum has the courage to add something like " checking the numbers with Visa" to this discussion..... Come on man, anybody who sends multiple and complete card numbers out is either a complete moron or scammer. We don´t need SPECTRABEI to tell us that he checked it, we knew allready! Have some decency man, clear up your past mess! (what I am asking.......?????, as if he will change.... )
Premium Members brooksrobinson Posted June 27, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 Steve, Cat got YOUR tongue? I think I'm up to 19 unreturned phone calls to you (since we last spoke) about the $1400 item I paid for over 9 years ago and still haven't seen. Nor have I seen my $1400. I don't want to waste anyone's valuable time, but since you brought up the issue of fraud, lets evaluate our situation. I ordered a product from you in 1996. I paid you $700 in advance. You quoted me three weeks for delivery. About a month later, you ran into "unexpected problems", and I paid you the remaining $700 balance, with the understanding that the product would be delivered in a couple of days. This was nine years ago. This was over 200 phone calls ago. This was after one move by you in the middle of the night to another state with no forwarding address or phone number. This was after the last Steve Byro blowout on this very forum, where you agreed to deliver my product to me in exchange for a very positive review of you and your customer service. This was after the last batch of 19 unreturned phone calls. Let me repeat so we don't have any misunderstandings...this was for a product I paid for NINE YEARS AGO! I don't think anyone needs YOUR help understanding the meaning of fraud. Brooks Robinson PS I look forward to hearing your spin. I'm sure it will be as enlightening as the one you offered up about your situation with John. What ever happened with that?
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted June 27, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 The product I was going to give you requires power transistors that have been discontiued by the manufacturer. To build this item I would have to completely redesign it. I just don't have the luxury of the spare time needed to do this. Steve Byro <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is quite an odd statement. If you didn't have the "luxury of spare time" to do something that you were being paid for, then why did you accept the money to begin with? And better yet, why didn't you give the money back when you decided not to do the job? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this is ass-backwards thinking. It's amazing that you actually tried to use that as an excuse.
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted June 27, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 It's way of topic, but why not. I second grimmits post. If you get paid, do the job ore refund. What the hell are you thinking. This community is not that big, and if you want to make a living out of it, stop behaving like you do. But i think your brain is as small as a shrimp so i am talking against a wall. Be an honest supplier and give the man his money back, till than, stay away from this forum, you're not welcome
Premium Members JimBartell Posted June 27, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 Lest anyone forget (as Steve apparently has), here is his quote from last year. "For insurance purposes I've got to get this thing resolved (it's a office Liability) So "OK"under one condition, once Jim is finished buying the first round of drinks I will buy the second and I hope everyone will show up (yes even you Eric). I can be in Los Angeles at anytime (with a 2 week notice). I would like to deliver the Sled to John personally at the party. So Ladies and Gentleman of the Steadicam Forum, Do We Have A Deal? Steve Byro" AND " I got your e-mail David, Thanks. I Will try to make it for Cinegear. I will be in Alabama the latter part of next week to resolve our camera protocol issues. If I can't make it to LA I'll send it to the address given. Steve" We had a deal that you agreed to. I was there and bought two rounds of drinks. John was there as well. The one person missing was YOU, along with John's sled. And this was after you had agreed to deliver regardless of the whole "I haven't been paid for the tube I told him I'd put in for free" nonsense. You also didn't send the sled as you promised. I'm sure you feel some sense of "having the upper hand" as long as you hold John's sled. In fact, it just serves to show everyone what keeping your word means to you. You attack Eric for allegedly overcharging. Taking money and delivering nothing, or offering something for free and then charging thousands of dollars for it, surely must rank as overcharging of the worst kind. BTW, Brooks, watch out for goodwill offers from Steve. The last one he gave John came with a $2475 price tag. Steve, I hear Nigeria has a very open immigration policy. I'm sure you'd fit right in. Premium Members JimBartell Posted June 27, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 Jim, I new I could count on you to post. The $2475.00 isn't coming out of your pocket, is it? I'm just trying to recoup my investment into Johns Steadicam. Someone had to pay for that tube, and I wrote the check. On a personal note; What happened to that svelt guy I used to work with @ Cinema Products? To Many "Free Drinks" I guess. Steve http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index...ype=post&id=447 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ooooh, ouch! The ad hominem attack! Well, when you can't attack the message, attack the messenger. And you misspelled new and svelt. Plus, I was never svelte when I was at CP. To answer your question, he turned into a successful, respected small businessman with over 600 follow focus systems in over 30 countries whose customers speak highly of him and his products and recommend him to their friends. And he put on some weight. I'd rather be a fat success than a skinny failure. And what happened to the lying thief I used to work with? I guess we know. Jim "I lost 12 pounds this month. Premium Members JobScholtze Posted June 27, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 Let's ignore him. He is really the most stupid potato head i have ever saw on a forum. He keeps telling himself he is right about everything. Just ignore him, and don't do any business with him ( call the FBI :P ) When he finally refund and bring some sleds back, ( not only talk about it, but do it ) Only then he good be a little more welcome here. Until now, the aversion is growing by the post. What a donkey ( call FBI again :P ) Loser
