I felt like this should be my last post on here. The topic is of importance.

 

 

This morning I booked a great job opportunity. It’s a half day, live concert, good rate, good production company, and a well known DP. Not to mention I need the work.

 

But today is also one of the hardest days I’ve ever had. This morning at 9:49am best friend, roommate, teacher, and colleague passed away. We battled the last 5 weeks together, side by side. The cancer went from her breast to her brain to her bones. Along with her sister and childhood best friends, we watched her leave her body.

 

Cira Felina Bolla was a Emmy Nominated IATSE Cinematographer with the most elegant eye I’ve ever seen. She would light with such grace and beauty. She would always talk with such passion and love for the story. She had a love for still and motion picture film. She had the biggest heart and with strong determination.

 

Today I go to work and do what I love because it makes me happy. Cira would want me to go and has in fact yelled at me for missing work on her behalf. I just wish I was able to take the day off and be with her here. But as a younger operator and ready to explore my opportunities, I must continue on and work. It will lift my spirits up and make me stronger.

 

I posted this message because I think some of you would like to know what ever happened after my emotional rant. And because I think that there are some of you out there too, that have had to go to work with a loved one passing. Makes you think how fast time moves and how we must stay focused.
