Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 17, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2014 They are available at B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/868354-REG/Laird_Telemedia_rd1_dinabf_1_Red_One_Video_3G.html/prm/alsVwDtl This is an adapter cabe after which you can plug your choice of BNC to mach the needed length. I very strongly recommend getting some angled connectors. The stock connectors on the Hyperdeck are DIN connectors, not mini-BNC.
Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted March 17, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2014 Thanks Victor Why the strong recommendation on the angled connectors? Have you found the DIN connectors to break easily? I once rented a cable with a straight connector and the wire started to separate from the connector tip...is this the concern? I realize they arent mini BNC...I embarrassed myself with my mistake...gah so amateur! brett.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 17, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2014 I had two straight cables break before switched to angled. The way the cables sticks out of the device makes them prone to catch onto everything. An angled connector will keep the adaptor cable flush to the recorder's body. I'm not a big fan of the DIN norm in general and I'm not the only one here. Also, they are soldered directly to the board without anything else holding them so be careful when plugging/unplugging them. It's still a great recorder for the price.
