Premium Members flemming laybourn Posted February 8, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 8, 2004 Hello out there..! I just got my V2 gimbal the other day... had a few spins with it but no working situation yet. First impression is good though... My background is a master film gimbal, and then the "standard" MK-V gimbal. First impression when opening the package and holding it is good craftsmanship. All metalwork is very nice. Its a bit bigger than the standard gimbal ( I also have a thicker post ) and the handle is somewhat longer that I´we been used to. A special feature to this gimbal-by the way, is that you can change the handle after your own specs..... haven´t tried that yet though..... Mk-V stated that there should be no play in any axis.... and this is.......true..! When doing the dynamic balance, there were no funny noises or any friction felt what so ever... ( might just be me but I sometimes been a bit worried when small shreats of metal dropped to the floor, when I adjusted the drop time.... ;-) I think that this gimbal should be the standard gimbal on the MK-V (no offense Howard) because In my opinion it is a much better construction than the standard model. :-) - wery good design / craftsmanship - No play - No friction - good grip. - very "neutral" in all positions. :-( - handle is a bit long...takes a little getting used to. - Insertion to armpost is shorter, gimbal ends up a bit higher on the arm ( in connection with monitor view..) I will return with pictures and more feedback when I have tested it "live" Best regards Flemming Laybourn
