Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted December 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 Anyone know a good place to find an "F" to bnc (female) connector? I believe it's called an "F" connector.....It looks just like the connector on the cable that you use to connect your cable to your TV. Someone please correct me if "F" isn't the right name for it. I use this connector for the input on my reciever and need to buy a couple spares. Thanks.

The airfare alone wouldn't make it worth it. Bi-Tronics if you're looking to buy online. They have a great catalog of connectors and cables, and other cool geeky stuff. www.btx.com Take Care, Chip
Premium Members Mikko Wilson Posted December 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 Check your local home elextronics store.. anwehre where you can buy a TV or VCR.. most of them have a littel setion of misc connectors. And failing that, Hit up Radio Rhack, they should definatly have the part. Here's the gold plated version from them: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family - Mikko
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted December 20, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 (edited) Chip, I'm actually headed back to Orlando for Christmas, so Skycraft may be in my future. I didn't even think of that. I remember Skycraft being on Lee Rd. Did they move or is my memory failing me? Hmm, Radio Shack....I didn't think they'd have that connector. Ya learn something new everyday. Thanks for the tips fellas. Edited December 20, 2005 by grimmett

We'll have a little Orlando Guild meeting.

Makes life a lot simpler.
Mitch Gross
Brad-- Just a guess, but do you use a Sony 1041 as your tuner? If so then replacing the connector is ridiculously easy. I opened mine up to discover that it was actually a pass-thru panel mount with a RCA on one side and an F-connector on the other. So for a couple of bucks I got an RCA to BNC panel mount from Markertek and used a Dremel to widen the panel housing just a touch. Took all of 5 minutes. Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted December 22, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 Mitch, I certainly do. I didn't realize it was that easy. I'll convert it asap. Thanks for the tip Mitch.
Mitch Gross
It was worth the shot to guess. I was so happy to discover how easy it was that I figured I should share the wealth.
