Steadicam Intensive at Melbourne University, Australia - Jan 23 to 27, 2006

 

Monday Jan 23 to Friday Jan 27: This intensive theoretical and practical course will provide training to a high professional level in the use of steadicam operation for use in feature film, documentary and television production. By the end of the workshop participants should be able to confidently assemble, balance and operate steadicam in various modes and configurations. Each day will consist of lectures, demonstrations and intensive practical exercises with various steadicam rigs.

 

A certificate of completion will be issued to participants who have satisfactorily attended and completed the workshop. The only steadicam course in the Southern Hemisphere, participants are advised to book early as there are only 15 places available. Accommodation is available for participants (and their families) on campus and fees include lunches, morning and afternoon teas. Conducted by three of Australia's leading steadicam operators led by Louis Puli (Crackerjack, Metal Skin, The Interview, Stingers, Little Oberon, Irresistible), Phil Baldson (Peter Pan, The Quiet American, Two Hands) and Rusty Geller (Bird Cage, Die Hard 2, CSI, Startrek Voyager).

 

 

*This course is a fully accredited Steadicam Operators course.

**Prerequisites: The Steadicam workshop is aimed at people with some camera experience and steadicam operators wishing to upgrade their skills to remain current with new techniques and technology.
