Hey Marc, One last tid bit...you may have all ready got this info from Transvideo, but if not: The spirit level mount that they use on the ultra bright units, is capable of mounting several different ways (I think 4). The reason is, most of there monitors are not balanced for a center mount. The bulk of the LCD?s electronics and connectors are all on one side, making them way off balance. There mount gives you the option of off centering the monitor to give a better dynamic balance. The screen will be off center, but the weight distribution will be even. It might seem odd at first, but I think you will find, a flatter pan. Also you have the option of flipping the screen upside down to give a slightly brighter image. You should definitely have a discussion with Noel or Maryann with Transvideo if you go this route. Good luck,

Don't use the Teletest construction, it is useless for Steadicam, though the monitor is reliable and decent for the money (I have one).

 

I use a ball-head as it give me the possibility to turn the screen, which is very helpful in some low-mode constructions, where it would otherwise be (partly) hidden behind rig parts.

It doesn't do much for the balance, most screens are lightweight anyway so a little twist hardly hurts.

Peter caled me (putting him on front street now) and he suggested some nice ideas also so maybe we can get together and devise a nice plan (its fascinating to hear guys who modd stuff think out loud!).

i have been contacted by Transvideo and she gave me several options to choose from. i may end up going their way because they have the bracketry i need to modify the rig without doing any damage. i just have to pick the monitor i can best afford! :rolleyes:

i have seen this photo many times and i would like to see a closer photo of it.

 

bascially, i like any bracket that will not do any damage to the Rig...

 

ill see transvideo at cinegear and gather more info and possibly a purchase...
