Premium Members Dan Coplan Posted May 19, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 I think this is the proper category for my question... What are you all using for covering your rig when it's outside docked on the stand? Is there a custom cover available or is anyone making do with something else? A sleeping bag or tent bag that cinches closed comes to mind but I don't know that any exist that are big/long enough. Dan

Premium Members Jason Torbitt Posted May 19, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 Tiffen also make a full sled cover with Steadicam logo on it. I use clear plastic industrial sized refuse sacks, just stick one upside down over the rig. Covers everything nicely and its waterproof. Also as you can see through it, it makes it obvious that there's a lot of expensive gear docked onto the stand, to any unsuspecting or unthinking people on set. I use the Jerry Hill arm cover and the Camera Essentials sled covers too.
Premium Members Matt Petrosky Posted May 22, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 22, 2006 Dan, Jerry Hill: http://www.steadimoves.com/parts.html Dan, This Jerry Hill cover is great. I think it's made by Patti Harrison's company, Camera Essentials (same material the CE camera covers are made out of) and similar to what the changing tents are made from. The Hill cover has a drawstring and is a triangular at the top, which fits nicely over the sled/camera and balancing spud that sticks out of the backside of the stand. -Matt
