Preston Availability

<_<I called Preston today to bite the bullet and buy a new follow focus system and found that the new model won't be available till March 2007. They said that they have no other wireless models? I am comfused about what to do.

Hi Jeffrey,

 

Yeah, CineGear did the trick. It's the first big upgrade (complete revamp) for the Preston Hand unit... actually forever (Almost 20 years). I'm almost in the triple digits on the waiting list. But I thought you could get the older Hand unit faster... So much to say about the quality of the Company. Everybody wants one.

 

If you are serious about your Follow Focus, than you have to wait.

 

Or...

 

You can look into the BFD to bridge the time. Call Jim or there was one for sale used at Whitehouse AV.

If you want to spend more money you can look into the ARRI or the C-motion... not my choice and I have issues with that company... but also the Scorpio.

 

All depending how quick you need your FF.

I spoke to Preston again today, I was told it will be another 6-8 weeks before I get the new handunit 3. Previously I was in the top 5 to get the new unit, but was told the few people in front of me on the list dropped out so apparently I'm the first on the list now.

 

As soon as I get it I'll let you all know so you can gauge from there how quickly you'll get it

based on where you are on the list.
