Well I bought a Bartech because that's what I could afford at the time, but after this last shoot I not really pushing to buy anything else. Just did a shoot in NJ where it was a bit cold for the first two days and many of the accessories didn't work. The camera was a 235, and the AC spec'ed out a few extras; Arri focus, Iris, and Zoom motors, Canatrans, Transvideo, and a CineTape. Just as we went to 1 for the first shot the Arri FIZ unit went south and wouldn't power up. Everyone blamed it on the cold (12 degrees). Well I slapped on the Bartech with an M-One and the rest of the day went great. The Arri box was almost like an annoying leech on the side of the camera, just doing nothing, until we had time to take it off.

This picture speaks for itself. GO BARTECH / Thanks Jim for making such a sweet product.

You are very welcome. Apparently, you are not the only one who feels this way as this has been my best year ever (over 150 sold) with my two largest orders (8 & 10 units).

Speaking of cold I recently had one of my most puzzling problems. Kelsey Smith of Nova Scotia had a problem with his BFD that only occurred when it was below freezing. It took numerous cycles through my freezer to find a temperature sensitive voltage regulator (always the last place you look). The part was supposed to work to -40 degrees, which is way too cold for my SoCal adjusted bones to venture into.

Jim,

A) Hope you found the slightly less cold beers in the box below while you were at it.

B) You realize that with such extreme customer service you will sell even more units next year.

EDIT: What the???? That was supposed to be the letter "B", but it got turned into one of those icons I can't stand because I'm old fashioned and believe that sarcasm, humor, etc. ought to come out in the words....

I know its an old topic, but just wanted to ad my experience.

I did a Concert last week. Same place i worked one month ago. At that time i had issues with my Follow Focus system. Rented a arri, same. Loand an old seitz, same. My assistant sits behind a monitor nex to the stage, and becose the stage is so big, he lost the signal. ( That hall is very large ( indoor footbal stadium ) so is the stage. This week i slapped the bartech on the camera and hoped for the best. Guess what, no problems at all. Man, i am happy i tackeld that problem.

Thx Jim, its like everybody said to me, you cant go wrong with the bfd
