Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted April 15, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted April 15, 2007 many thanks to my friend Tom...great machinist, expert rock climber, collector of radioactive debris, oldest man to ever ascend Whitney, and master of photoshop. I can't live a lie anymore. Here is the unaltered photo of me on the Whitney Trail. Many thanks to ******* for coming forward with this photo evidence of my love for twinkies and beer. I'm not sure what's under more stress...the Log, my right knee, or my pack's waistbelt? Now you know why I use a back mounted harness...the Pro vest won't fit. rb

Premium Members BJMcDonnell SOC Posted April 17, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 17, 2007 Right on Ron! Dude I am shooting in Moab starting next week. I have weekends off so if you got room in the H1 and need a spotter than I am all in. I don't have my ride so I am a bit stranded. Call me before you get to Moab and I can give you my schedule. That would be SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BJ

Premium Members Tom Gleason Posted May 18, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 18, 2007 We've finally decided to attempt Whitney during our second window...June 27 through June 30. Work schedules and lack of fitness have dictated that we take to extra four weeks and attempt to train. I'll keep anyone interested posted on any practice hikes in the local mountains between now and then!
Premium Members Tom Gleason Posted May 30, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 Thinking about doing a practice hke this weekend. Aiming for Mt. Baden-Powell, up near Wrightwood. It's 9400 ft and about a 9 mile hike. Last year it took Ron and I about 5 hours to do it. Not a bad little hike.
