atv operating

I have turned to the masses. Anyone have any pictures of any atv setups to mount a steadicam to. I am helping a friend design his new atv for some different mounts. I was hoping to get any feedback from some operators who either have an atv or used one. You know, any info on what you liked, didn't like, any links to pictures of some or email addresses of someone who would share the knowledge. Thanks Guys!

Here's a site with a few pictures of a friend of mine's ATV. I've never hardmounted steadicam off of it (only done handheld) but it's been designed so that you can mount just about anywhere. I'm sure there are many other ATV's like it around.

Hope this helps.

You can also check out:

That is yours truly on the Brooklyn Bridge, Pre Ultimate.

Kerry did two nice things on his Quad. He stripped the stock racks off, and replaced it with very rigid cheeseplate to facilitate a multitude of mounting options. The bucket seat you see clearly in one picture is actually way better than I thought it would be. Although you are almost always leaning forward, away from the seat back, the double shoulder straps and the bucket seat hug your hips nicely and keep you firmly in place.

I'm looking for an atv (quads) that will support a steadicam setup.

Whats the best way to setup with steadicam ?

Also has anybody ever used an electric ATV or golf cart type setup ?

Any info greatly received.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

How are you.

I use a Kawasaki Mule. It has been great for me. It runs up to 45km p/hour. Automatic transmission, etc.

I can sit on the back, and easily hardmount the steadicam. I asked my wife to sell here car and use this for the shoppings, guess what, she sayd no  kawasaki_mule550_alltrl_lg.jpg

Sweet setup Job

That thing cost more than my current car :o

I can see how it's the perfect tool though.

I'm just starting to pull in some bigger jobs at the moment, with bigger jobs come bigger cameras and my little flyer isn't up to weight.

Hows the V25 going, would it fly well with a varicam ?

Do you think they'd let me trade

Has anybody gone down the budget route with atv's/quads ?

Would be very interested to find out if i could get setup with a workable solution for about £2000.

Is it possible to soft mount on the back of a quad or is hard mount essential ?

Cheers

did get it second hand, so its not that expensive. The picture shows a brand new one. Mine is around 2 years old. But still in new condition though. I used it twice, both with my Gold on it. Did not use it with the v25 yet.

The V25 holds around 12.5 / 13 kg. So i think it will.
