Premium Members brooksrobinson Posted June 12, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 12, 2007 I leave for a job in a few weeks that will shoot in the jungle for several months. Does anyone know of any "off the shelf" rain covers for a Preston MDR-2? Anyone out there building custom covers? I am anticipating a lot of rain on a daily basis and the MDR is the only thing I don't have a cover for. I have had great success with Meredith Wilson in Toronto building rain covers for my XCS sled and monitor, but before having her commit to build me one of these, I thought I'd see if someone already builds one. Thanks in advance for any help. Brooks Robinson bandmj@pacbell.net
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted June 13, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted June 13, 2007 Brooks, Meredith and I exchanged emails about the MDR. She is unfamiliar with what everything is called on a Steadicam but from what I can decipher she has already done an MDR cover once before. It may have been an MDR-1, but I don't think that would be an issue. What killed it for me - at least until I can take a bunch of pictures, etc. was that I use PRO's quick release for the MDR on a DB3 and wanted to make sure any rain cover fit around this set-up (I think the one she did was also on a DB2). Anyway, contact her and see what she comes up with. Good luck and keep us posted (I could have used one on the beach yesterday). Cheers, Alec
