Guest Alanna Berkson
Hello kids, We have had several reports indicating that new Canon and Fujinon "Digital Lenses" are susceptible to damage if the Micro Force is plugged into a powered camera ("hot plugging".) Since the cost of repairing the lens circuit board can be substantial, it is URGENT that Micro Force owners take the following steps to preclude damage to their Digital Video lenses: I. Micro Force V+F2 and Digital Micro Force Models a. An Optical Isolator circuit board must be installed in the Micro Force. We can do it here for $50. This board only connects the zoom signal to the lens once all of the connector pins have made contact. b. ALL VIDEO CABLES must have a green band on them. This green band will be located on the lens connector. The green band signifies that a protection transistor has been installed in the cable. If your cable does NOT have a green band please send it to us and we will install the transistor free of charge. II. Older Model Controls (Micro Force or V+F) a. Before using an older model control to drive a video lens, make sure that the control has been configured for video lens operations. Just because it says V+F on the front does NOT mean that it has been configured for video. It means that it CAN be configured for video. PLEASE CALL ALANNA IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. 310-453-1852
