TJ Williams
I've been working on a repeated job recently where we are coming from steadicam to hand held a lot. Does anyone make a bracket that will slide a shoulder pad onto the bottom of a steadicam plate. Then I could just leave the motors etc in position and jump up off the dovetail and pop onto a hand held mode. TJ

I have one and it really saves my shoulder when I'm operating hand-held. The padding is variable and it is well made. I think it cost under $
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted March 1, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 That's a good plan Robert. I like that pad too. It's nice to not have the pad fixed to the camera as you can shift the setup around to find the sweet spot on your shoulder (which is often fore of the camera-mounted pad, if present). Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted March 11, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 11, 2008 That's the one that Filmtools is selling. So far it worked well for me. Erwin
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted March 11, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 11, 2008 The other way would be an adapter plate, like you use for your Transmitter on the Low mode plate. Add Velcro to attach the pad directly to the Steadicam plate... Not sure how comfortable or adjustable it would be... Erwin
