SOC Swap Meet this Saturday in LA

I don't think I've seen a listing here about this but I was wondering how many of us here who are SOC might be participating in this and also want to let people know about it--it seems a little under-announced to the public.

scroll to "Swap Meet"

I'll be there, it will be a nice opportunity to get some unused bits both Steadi and otherwise cleaned out. If anyone is inclined to list in this thread some specific bits and pieces that they might be getting rid of at the event, that could be enticing also.

Thanks for putting it together Aiken (and to the Steadicam Guild for promoting it).

Thanks for posting this Charles.. and great idea about posting items here that might be at the meet.

This will be a great opportunity to get rid of some items in the garage since I'll be moving the end of September!

Here is my short list of things I might bring..

  • I have an assortment of
    Swivel Casters and tires
    (different sizes)

  • A LOT of
    AC /ICG and SOC magainzes
that I wouldn't mind parting with.

  • Perhaps a
    Master Series Sled
repaired and checked out by Tiffen just a few months ago. I would include power cables, 5 bats, single charger..

I'm going to have a bunch of old parts from CP and PRO rigs of yore along with a selection of cables (MDR1 run cables for instance), old meters, yada yada. Probably an old case or two also. I'll be looking to pick up old PRO-compatible dovetails and a Gorelock-compatible docking bracket (don't have to have the spin balance beam), if anyone has one.

I THINK I have

2, 12" swivel casters (from Northerntool.com)

2 or 3, 8" swivel casters (from Northerntool.com)

I know I have: 3 of the standard swivel casters that are sold with the American Grip Stand.

I have a J7 Zoom control too but I'm not selling it. Everytime I think about selling it I wind up getting a job where I need it!

I'll be there with few things like RF-links 9 channel transmitter, various BFD cables, spare Steadicam cables / AKS, FS-100 Firestore drive for HVX 200 and other odds & ends.

... and one more cowbell for David's collection!

Hey:

Any of you buggers coming tomorrow have in their possession the following:

RED power cable to PRO (single or Y cable, either will do)

RED run cable to Preston MDR2

I was supposed to get my hands on these for a shoot this Sunday and it didn't happen, would love to borrow them to return Monday if possible. I'll be at the swap meet from 8-1.

thanks!

Chas
