Lots of handheld work with snap zooms. No problems here. However, I've been noticing the use of snap zooms while they are shooting with their steadicam rig! I thought the only way to truly achieve a snap, was to manipulate the zoom ring by hand. So I am wondering if anyone has done this before while operating their rig. Does the wireless zoom allow the lens to zoom that quick with precise stops that don't ease out? Or is an AC actually grabbing the lens while they are flying? Or is an AC actually grabbing the lens while they are flying?" You can do snap zooms by engaging a motor to the zoom ring and attaching it to the iris channel or another focus channel. I have yet to fly anything with that type of lens control. I figured there was a big trick to it to get that really snappy movement. You´ve 3 movs... travelling thrt/out versus zoom out/thrt plus foccus... Cordinacion is..."The way..." Focus op can do two works... focus+zoom... But he must be corinated with steadicam movement...
