Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted November 20, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 Anyone know of a machinist with a lathe generally in or around the Sherman Oaks area or reasonably close by? I just have one existing round piece I need turned down from 3/4" to about 5/8 or so. Thanks!

Premium Members Simon Jayes Posted November 20, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 Try Mike Skipp at Skipps Engineering, 8900 Eton Avenue, Suite J, Canoga Park, CA 91304. (818) 882-3500. He runs a film specific machine shop making stuff from Libra Heads to lens brackets - I can't recommend him enough...... he used to make parts for me when I owned TechnoCrane. Premium Members Leandro Silva Posted November 24, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2008 Hello, I came across this site, emachineshop.com, and it looks interesting. I actually used their software to design a piece once, but since I live in Portugal shipping was way too expensive. It might be an alternative for people living in the states. Curious to hear if anybody ever used this site. All the best, Leandro
