Jason Gorman
Hello, really have enjoyed reading the forum over the years, great stuff!! My question is in regards to the arm of my Flyer. The adjustment screws for the rod-ends are stuck, at least they wont budge when torque is applied by my massive guns ;). I realize that it is not recommend to use any tools on those screws, so what should i do? (I can hear the laughs now) what about using wd-40 or some kind of lubricant to get them moving? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Happy Holidays Jason
Premium Members Philip J. Martinez SOC Posted November 25, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2008 Hi Jason, I own a G-50 arm. DO NOT use WD-40. Tiffen suggested using a product called Tri-flow on my arm when it was making a little noise. You can get it at a bike shop As to your adjusting issue. Is your arm under load when you try to adjust it? (the rig is built with a camera on the sled ect..) There is a sweet spot in all the Tiffen arms where turning the screw becomes easy. Call Tiffen they stand behind there product and are there to help. Good Luck

Chris "Use the rollers when the arm is not under load.".....as quoted from the manual? Should I place the sled on the arm and look for the 'sweet' spot ? Thanks. Premium Members Philip J. Martinez SOC Posted November 25, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2008 My arm has both LIFT and RIDE I think the Flyer only has lift. With my G-50 the arm must be "Under load" (meaning I have the vest, arm, and sled with a camera on) to adjust the lift. To adjust the ride the "Bones" of the arm need to be all the way up or not "under load" I believe the Flyer arm needs to be "under load" when adjusting it. I know the Pilot arm needs to be "Under Load" Call Tiffen and just ask or Text Peter from Tiffen (his # is on their website) he is really good at getting back to you fast.
