Premium Members Steve Acheson Posted February 19, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 Sim Video sells an awesome handle that goes on the top and then has an eyepiece holder its really awesome... You can contact Cliff Hsui 323-978-9018 chsui@simvideo.com the call it the cheese handle... Here are some videos of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhG4dfwXfeQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_NISTOfpjU Its also great because it keeps the top open and helps prevent overheating
George Grammatikos
just unscrew the handle of the camera then you can adapt your stedicam plate with two screws ,verry solid!
TJ Williams
www.red.com see store: use two universal mounts on the upper 19" rods to mount your steadicam plate very solid and can adjust front and rear quite easily for lens changes etc. most every red kit has a couple of these! Premium Members Michael Wilson Posted March 12, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 12, 2009 I used this element technica cheese plate handle that was sitting around the office. It connects to universal mounts on the RED. It does the job. How do I make an attachment so the image isn't huge like this?

Trouble with mounting it that way is the CG of the camera is further away fro the gimbal which means your post will probably need to be lengthened which makes tilting a bit harder. But it does get the camera closer to the ground, which can be useful.
Premium Members Michael Wilson Posted March 13, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 13, 2009 Here are some more pics. What do you guys think? I might try something else I kind of forgot about the whole CG issue. It balanced so nicely that it really didn't enter my mind.
