Premium Members Matt Doll Posted June 12, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 12, 2009 Matt Doll here in Wilmington NC The director for our first episode wants to do low mode shot with a low angle prism. I tested it last year and found it did not give me that dramatic of a visual in comparison to a 12mm lens scraping the ground. On top of that I have a U2 top stage which the prism was actually seeing. I have pulled the nose box before and I will have to if I do the shot. Luckily it is an Arri 416 it is manageable. Has anyone done this, or has no one done it because of what I found in my initial test (that the image is not that much different). Interesting side note- the director used to be a DP. I asked my DP if is he interested in doing the [prism]shot, and he said that the director has made up his mind, I need to figure it out. I am up for the challenge but --Please help. Thanks Matt Doll local 600 camera operator/steadicam owner operator
