Peter Hoare is doing a good job of taking in feedback and it has evolved greatly with many pro-level features.

Although I emailed Peter about putting a pre-order in and got no response what so ever.

I am now the proud owner of a BFD and m-one.

yikes--couldn't figure that one out at first. While trying to delineate two points, I listed "a)" which it accepted but then "b" with a parentheses ")" after it magically turned into a dreaded emoticon.

I feel dirty all over. I've been had.

so, does this mean that the 5DMKII's are in and the Red's and out? ;) All I've been seeing nowadays is the use of this camera in quite a few productions compared to the RED. BTW CP, love the rig setup. :) Again, you never cease to amaze ;)

Hi Kevin,

Just had a look in my inboxes, you did email, and your right, I didn't reply. Looks like you sent it to peter@ and not pete@. Unfortunately, we printed up some business cards in error saying peter@, and its the only place where that email has ever been used. I do have that email setup (had to set it up after we got the cards back with the wrong address) and it is rarely checked unfortunately.

Oh well, I am sure you will be happy with your system.

Pete.

Flavor of the month, just like everything else...at the point at which the Epic and Scarlet emerge, I'm sure that's all we'll hear about for a while. I'm very curious to see if Canon will get their act together and put the engine of the 5D inside a film-friendly chassis--just hoping it won't look like the XL series! Of all of the manufacturers of prosumer gear, only JVC gets that a camera that balances on the shoulder has much to offer over those that sit against the shoulder (XL's, EX's).

Funny coincidence to come across this article. I'm shooting a lot more in the Wedding world lately, and we do some sweet stuff with the 5D (check my website for some wedding clips). We haven't panavized ours yet however. I was just working on a RED One shoot today in fact, and was joking with the DP/RED Owner about the 5D. Flavor of the week I'm sure. I have yet to try that thing on a Steadicam for fear of the DoF! But that camera has an even better iris than our eyes it seems, so I'll have to try stopping it way down and shooting wide.
