Very nice.... - 4:3 cmos chip - Over-scanned image area electronic finder or optical finder - base sensitivity of 800 ASA - small and lightweight Arri

Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 11, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2009 yes, all of them have the 4:3 sensor and one of them is capable of using the full aperture for anamorphic lenses, the other (cheaper models) will only use a 16:9 section of the chip for a 2K HD output. Premium Members Sydney Seeber Posted September 12, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 12, 2009 I like that... A lot. Nice and compact, easily shoulder mounted, not trying to stretch the limits of resolution, rather focusing on dynamic range and the quality of the image. Price starts at 72 grand, but definitely competitive with Sony... Arri pretty much always makes excellent shit.

The EVF is 720p (The F23/35/Genocide is 480i) The sensor performance looks to be fantastic. Arri has a winner
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted February 3, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 3, 2010 Loving what I'm hearing about this camera system. Can't wait to shoot with it. HD is finally starting to move out of its awkward pubescent phase and gain a bit of elegance in the form factor. Oh wait--3D is going to ruin all of that. Never mind. We'll talk again in another 5 years.

Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted February 5, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 5, 2010 Hopefully you are right Charles -- maybe we've finally reached the zenith of stupid, heavy, power hungry cameras? No Ron, I think that can only be achieved when a producer calls and tells you that your getting your rate on a 3D film for 10 months in New Zealand shooting on film... turns out to be true but they failed to mention the two BL4's on the 3D rig!
