Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted September 20, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 20, 2009 Where would one find a variety of antennas (BNC, SMA) in different frequencies and patterns for different accessories? I've searched the forums and the web and can't find anything helpful. I want to get a stubby BNC antenna for my Seitz (72.790mhz). I figure if I have to live with historic technology for the time being, I can at least get rid of that annoying dangling wire antenna.. I'll also be looking for a solution for the custom built Camos that David Hable is building for me..

I think your butting up against the laws of physics here. The lower the frequency, the longer the antenna. Back in the day at CPC, the shortest antenna we could find at this frequency was about a foot long (Larsen KD4-72). Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted September 21, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 21, 2009 That explains why the Bartech operates in the 900's I suppose ;) Mike "wish I had a Bartech" Germond
Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted September 22, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 22, 2009 Jim, Do you have a source on that antenna? By your description, it sounds identical to the one on the transmitter.. Also, would something in the high 900's and early 1000's interfere with the Bartech? Mike Mike, Sorry for the delay in responding. Here is the home page for Larsen antennas:http://www.larsen-antennas.com/ Yes, there is still a possibility that something in the high 900's or low 1000's could still cause a problem because they can overload the analog front end of the receiver preventing the correct frequency from getting through.
