According to the specs the 6.5'' is much better than the 7''. Shame about the 4x3 format though, means a greatly diminished picture size when shooting 16x9. I'm looking at it more from a 1st ac point of view than a steadicam ops so I'm quite interested in hearing about the peaking compared to say astro or panasonic. Also does it flip? Couldn't find any literature about this. Does it work with all genesis and red refresh rates? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully things will be different when production monitors become available. ~Jess The OLED brightness levels looked identical in daylight to the LED versions that Marshall had in side by side comparisons I saw at that monitor shootout last June or whatever. The 6.5" LCD had better viewability but as I said the OLED was a prototype so things will hopefully impove. Think it was just at the Marshall table? That's right... They had an OLED there at their table, and I asked him if I could look at the OLED next to the regular old LED... In daylight, they looked pretty identical. The surface coating seemed to be infinitely more of a factor than whether or not the LEDs were organically grown, free range and uncaged. Brett Manyluk Posted October 9, 2009 Report Share Posted October 9, 2009 I think it's $3600 for the Steadi version with moveable framelines, and another $400 for the digital level add-on (in a separate box). I've been demoing the Solar 7, daybright version, and I haven't found a situation where I can't see the screen clearly. I'm sure I'll be picking one of these up soon. It also comes with a false colour mode for exposure checks, which I've fallen in love with since using that function on the Red. I really prefer it to a waveform for a quick scan of the image. Marshall got the same treatment but as far as I know the results have not been the same.
