Premium Members Christopher T. Paul- SOC Posted October 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Hey Folks, Wondering if anyone has any feedback after using the Ronford/Baker Atlas 30 Head. I have always used the O'Connor 2575 ultimate heads, but am now building a RED package and was hoping to learn more about this head. I can't find anyone in the NY area that is renting it or I would go and sus it out myself. Shooting conditions would be with a Red camera, and the 24-290 optimo... Thanks, Chris
Premium Members Thomas English Posted October 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Really I absolutely LOVE it. The O'Connor is a fantastic head but really the Atlas is so much sweeter.
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted October 6, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 6, 2009 In what ways does it improve on the 2575? Might be good to keep in mind that when it comes to rentals, the 2575 requires no explanation but those unfamiliar with the Ronford-Baker may look askance. I know a few people who bought the Cartoni head a few years back who had an uphill time getting it on jobs due to unfamiliarity.

Paul- SOC Posted October 8, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2009 Abel Cine Tech was nice enough to offer to bring one out from England for me- so in a week or so I'll get to play. Charles: It's really just for my use when shooting- so I won't be renting it out to other DP's- but yes, it's certainly not the industry standard. Thanks, CP Hi Christopher, Im interested in buying one too. Critics are hard to find on internet... It would be very nice if you could post your impressions after trying it.
