Premium Members Scott Dropkin Posted November 16, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 16, 2009 Hi all, I have a job coming up with the Panavision 16mm "elaine" camera and just had a couple of questions to ask. I tried to search for them but I didn't find any answers, so I apologize if this is repetitive. Mainly, what type of connector is used for power? Is it similar to the Millennium or Gold? Also, what is the weight of it? If I remember it is a little bit heavier than the SR3, but I can be completely wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, any other issues that I have not mentioned would be a great help. Thanks, Scott
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted November 17, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 Same as the XL, the two pin hermaphrodite Lemo. Depending on lens, generally heavier than the SR3 in most configurations. Probably the heaviest 16mm camera in modern times!

Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted November 17, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 You forgot to mention the "great" Lowmode bracket and the shitty video tap... and you can't remove the eye piece... It looks like somebody took a Platinum and shaved off some corners... from my memory it's close to a lightweight in weight... so not really a light camera.... Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted November 17, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 What they said and +1 ! The first time I flew one I went into it with a "16mm" mentality and it was anything but that. I've flown a few now and every time they've come with older heavy lenses, full matte boxes etc.. The last one was hitting close to 40 lbs; I'll take a PV Lightweight any day!
