Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted January 5, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 5, 2010 Batteryunit is motorized to adjust dynamic balance (no remote, just a button, see pic). Are you kidding me? it's too hard to twist a knob? Let's just make something that's simple complicated. Toolfree RIG with very solid clamps on the post and gimbal (haven't seen this by others). You mean like the XCS Ultimate or All the Tiffen Rigs or even now PRO-gpi?
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted January 5, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 5, 2010 Department of Redundancy Department (see Alec's post above)... Apparently you were right Eric, putting periods at the end of your posts DOES hamper your creativity (ah dammit, can't do it--here it comes...) . Diego Dezuttere
Sorry, you 're right. what I ment was the unseen strongness of clamps. I compare with Tiffen, MKv and Pro. XCS exists barely in our region. Pity. Since I had a broken clamp, it was an old clipper2 (rental)... In the field... middle of nowhere and... no spare clamps! Believe me it won't happen me again. I hope! :) All the best, Diego
Diego Dezuttere
Hi Thomas, I 've never tried a G70 but used several times a G50 (rental) and it's a great arm. Your choice depends on what kind of jobs you do... I had to set (many times) the arm from a lowweight camera to a F35 (or backwards) it could take a while... You have to turn and turn... that small hard to reach and turn knob. This disturbed me. So I chose GPI Pro. Replace the springs, bit finetuning and fly... Indeed less boomrange and no geo but a very legendary arm. You choose, you loose. Choose right! Let your needs speak. Don't forget to count import taxes! From USA to Belgium it can be over 10-30%! Premium Members Thomas K. Jensen Posted January 19, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted January 19, 2010 Just to close this thread... I have today placed an order for a brand new Tiffen Clipper 312 with Motorized stage, upgrade to an Ultra2 vest, Artificial Horizon and extra hard case for arm and vest. Thanks for all the nice advice you've given me. Thomas :-)
