Hi everyone!

I'm posting this video from a daily cooking tv show I shoot.

I'm a newbie with steadicam. I made the Robin Thwaithes' 3 day workshop on June 2008, England.

It would be great if I could get some critics/opinions/suggestions/advices from you guys!!

you can watch the video here

Gear: Steadicam ProVid

Studio camera with triax cable

VariZoom

Cheers

Edmond.

Hi Edmond, contgrats on getting a steadicam gig! Daily shows are great for putting time in the rig, becoming comfortable with it.

My first tv series with my steadicam was also a daily cooking show many years ago so this brings memories for me.

I would suggest you invest in some triax to coax connectors and a 7ft (or length to your taste) very thin 75 ohm coax cable so you may decrease the drag on your rig that the triax is making.

I would also suggest you try to get a focus controller that works with your zoom control. Eventually they will want you to zoom into close ups of the food and you will want focus control event though you're on a wide angle lens.

Hope you fly safe and enjoy your experience and don't eat too much of the food on set!!!

Best Regards,

Bryan

Thank you so much Bryan! It's always good to take advices from someone that has been trough the same experience.

Now replying to our private messages conversation:

I'm flying with a 2 sec drop time. It's a quite old rig and arm that I'm using so it's not that precise and to overcome this gear's handycap I use a faster drop time. (... Good,, bad?)

About the triax to coax connectors... anyone knows where to get this in Europe?

Thanks once again!

Cheers,

Edmond
