Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted November 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 26, 2009 I bought KS-4s under the "Larry Plan" of having three, but I've still only gotten around to buying two. What I like about this set-up is that you can use different amounts and placements for varied inertial/weight/power control. Sometimes I'll just use one under the gimbal but other times two. The third would go on the top of the camera. Larry has got a new setup that he uses with 2 KS-6 gyros. He slips his battery mount off the sled, and the gyros slide right on to the rods. The 2 gyros are mounted together one above the other in an 'X' configuration. The rig and gyros are then powered by a single umbilical cord that runs to customised pelican case that has his powercube batteries in them. It also has spare batteries in them already rigged, so that a low voltage situation only needs a flip of the switch, so the gyros dont lose speed while you switch batteries over. Also this system keeps the sleds weight distribution close to what it usually is, since the batteries are replaced by the gyros in exactly the same position (except possibly tucked in closer to the sled) He is planning to make and sell it as a readymade plug and play solution, but as with all things Larry, when he will find the time to do it is anyones guess ;) Sanjay Sami
