Handsfree Demo

The GBCT and Optical Support are hoping to run a two-day demo in mid December of the Segway Handsfree transporter for steadicam and camera operators The viability of this will be determined by the level of interest shown by the operators. We are just testing the water to see which operators would be interested as there is quite a lot of work involved and some costs which we would have to charge attendees in advance of the demo.

The dates would be 19th/20th December and we’re hoping to get a studio at Pinewood.

We have managed to get Chris Fawcett, a steadicam operator and Handsfree owner operator based in Holland to demonstrate what can be achieved on this amazing device.

For those wanting to know more about how it works check out. http://www.handsfree-transporter.com or go to Chris Fawcett’s website http://www.steadivision.com

The idea is to run four, four hour workshops with three operators in each workshop to ensure that everybody gets some quality time practising. There will be a mixture of outdoor/indoor and road/off road work for you to try so bring some wet weather gear. Steadicam equipment will be provided but if you want to use your own please do.

We will be charging £300 per operator, payable in advance. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get it any cheaper due to the costs of getting Chris over here for a couple of days.

Please get back in touch with me if you’re interested or have any questions peterobertson@mac.com or contact info@opticalsupport.com or phone 020 7281 0999.

Many Thanks.
