Everytime I mention it to an operator they react to it as "really, why didn't anybody tell me..." Many operators that are working a lot can't or just will not check the forum... most of them don't even care to check the forum anymore... many got turned off by the new layout. But they would show up to a gathering if they would know about it... Just a thought and maybe we can improve on the poor showings at the last couple of gatherings... But they would show up to a gathering if they would know about it... The addresses of steadi ops that I had in my email box are all gone when I switched services. I have the guild sign up sheets from most all the meetings and will have to sift through those and then add the 50 or 60 addresses I have to my email contact list... again. Is this impossible? No.. Is it time consuming, VERY. Obviously there is not enough time to get the word out via email this time. Here are a couple of alternatives and let me know what you all think. 1. We could have the meeting on a particular day of the month. i.e., "The last Saturday of each month" Then, everyone would know for sure the DATE. For the details on place and time, they could log on to this forum or they could goto the Steadicam Guild web site (which is still under construction because, again, I had to switch services. (Charter dumped Earthlink.... long story) Or We could do it the "Batman" way. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Place. and 2. I just created an email account on hotmail. People who want to be informed via email of Steadicam guild meetings and activities can/should/have to subscribe by sending an email to: Steadicamguild@hotmail.com and just type subscribe in the subject box. I know it's a pain but you should only have to do this once. Keeping Informed: If you would like to sign up for email alerts for steadicam guild events and gatherings just goto the steadicam guild web site at http://www.steadicamguild.net and sign up.
