I imagine the theater something like Mystery Science Theater 3000 with all the steadicam ops commenting -- Headroom!...Horizon!...Light in the shot!...Mike!...etc. Seriously, it's cool to have one's work critiqued. Next we could have beers at Jeff Hunt's and make fun of his operating on CSI. Then a barbeque at my house to make fun of my stuff on Division re-runs. Then we are off to Colin's to play his drum set and tease him about his work on The Cooler.

In all seriousness, I'm bummed I couldn't make it -- it's great to give support to one of our buddies. Soon we'll be watching stuff Charles has directed!

Funny you should say that, Ron. David Grove kept yelling "Mike" during the screening, and I thought he was calling one of his buddies over.

Then there was that one shot that I wasn't too happy with, so I feigned a coughing fit. Managed to distract everyone just long enough.

BTW, if anyone has Ron over their house, make sure to take all the framed pictures down before he arrives--he's a little clumsy.

OK, I'll explain that one. Ron operated for me on a 48-hour short film I made a month or two back (hey look, here it is). During the first (beautifully operated) walk-and-talk that appears in the film, there was this pesky ol' framed poster on the wall, see--well, let's just say that the Klaussen low profile arm could have been just a LEETLE lower profile that day. Ron, I managed to get the picture reframed before the owners of the house came home from their vacation.

sorry again about that! I was so pre-occupied about getting through the door without a spotter that I forgot to actually turn the corner once through said doorway. I Walter's defense (and to his credit) it wasn't the harness...it was my buns of steel -- I also have to be careful how fast I sit on apple boxes.
