BFD to Steadicam master series cable mod

Ok. But not all of the lemo contacts have the numbers . But the diagram is pretty straight forward. The lemo contact on the archer front side is embedded in a circuit board. So you cannot see the contact

 

 

But all lemo's have the white line on the backside of the connector, Pin one is ALWAYS the one that is circled by the whiteline Pin 2 is the next one down the line etc etc.

what about the male end that you are making? can you see the pin #'s there to confirm the wires are correct?

Oy, I'm getting such a headache. Lemo doesn't paint pin numbers on B-Type connectors, only on S Type (hermaphrodite) connectors. On B type they use a "follow the painted line" system. The half circle is around pin 1 and the painted line leads to the next pin (2) and then to the next and it ends at the highest number pin. On connectors with many pins in a small space there is no room for numbers.

Jim is right. There are no numbers because there is no space for them on these male contacts. So the only way is to go with the pin diagram and foloow the red mark and count from the top pin, (as in my case, being only 3 pins) and counter clock wise. So the diagram in post that Mike posted should be right.

So again, male cable contact should read as a mirror image:

 

1. GND

2. +24

3. +12v

 

Female contact 3 pin front side should be axactly as you as you all suggested:

 

1. GND

2. +12v

3. +24v

 

On the other end of the cable that will connect to the BFD motor is the 2 pin:

 

1. GND

2. +12v

 

Does anyone agree with me? Jim?

Jim is right. There are no numbers because there is no space for them on these male contacts. Forget about the numbers on the diagrams and just follow the white line on the connector. FYI, the line runs in opposite directions on plugs (CCW) vs. receptacles (CW), so pin 1 always connects to pin one, pin 2 to pin 2, etc. It would be total chaos otherwise.

 

And you've got the BFD end backwards, pin 1 is +12V, pin 2 is Gnd.

Ok. Thank you for clarifying Jim. I did not know that receptacles were CW. Oops. good thing you mentioned that. Although when looking at Lemos tech specs it they have the receptacles totally opposite to what you just mentioned. But no worries Jim. I'll follow your advice. Now I have to let my technician redo it the cable. Thanks Jim. Sorry to stress you out Jim. And Eric, some people are a little slower in understanding certain things than others. Everyone cannot be so smart and together as you. ;)

 

So I will not pester you guys any more on this matter.
