Ok, finally got burned but producers decision to change my camera to a 7D Canon EOS. Now working with the 5D has been a small learning curve on how to handle the little booger. Boy was I not prepared.

So the camera shows up with three lenses, a body and one battery... are you kidding me!!!! How the &%#@ am I suppose to get this to work... even then one of the lesses, the WIDEST is a f5... [add more 4 letter words here] and the guy has the nerve to brag about the f1.4 on the 100mm... you mean to tell me that I have to pump more light into my wide shot when I just had to get ride of half to lights that could have given me a comfortable FAT5.6... Now how well will that 100mm f1.4 hold up to me bashing your skull with it?!?

Moving on, cause that what we do. No rigging for me to get the thing onto the O'Conner and get a follow focus for my Preston or even basic studio. So now I know when the Cat Griller would come in and save the day... (placing order soon) because I did have the means to mount up on steadi... but that's only two of my 16 shots. [Yes, more words]

Lastly, had to fly and operate off the freakin 2" LCD on the back of the camera because Canon decided to change from the AV plug to this Stereo AV Cable AVC-DC400ST that OF COURSE the guy doesn't have. HDMI was useless because of no cross converter, nor input on my UltraBright2.

Three (3) hours lost to get it rigged to work and no director monitor (that part was ok, cause she was the lead too) and then after no paid attention to my many request to get another battery... we go down, another 30 minutes lost while waiting for a battery to charge up!

Ha I hear ya Alfeo.

It just so happened that I had the necessary RCA to USB cable, but because there was no prep day or proper correspondence between production and camera department we didn't have the proper adapter to make it work. We needed a standard usb to mini usb adapter. If we had that, we wouldn't have had to fly blind the whole time.

So this is a word to the wise, next time you go to radio shack or Frys or Best Buy, stock up on all the cables/adapters for audio, video and digital inputs/outputs you can. You'll never know what your next production will throw at you. And insist on a PREP DAY.
