TJ:

I'm about to sell an Nnovia A2D recorder (actually 2); bought them to test out and see if they would make good onboard recorders. They record at DV quality, better than any of the little MPG4 recorders, no visible compression to speak of and have better controls. The downside is that unmodified they come in at 1 lb and are somewhat large. They do however have RS232 ports and GPi triggers so you can remote them. My plan was to rehouse them into a Delrin box and build it into the rig, with the Anton Bauer plate on the front. My belief was that in this fashion it would have only added .5 lb and maybe an inch of thickness to the AB plate, plus I needed a little more front weight anyway to offset going to an LCD. The recorders come with an internal hard drive but I had already swapped one out for an SSD drive, much power efficient, impervious to G-forces and would allow for the compressed rehouse (the original needed airspace for ventilation).

Here is some more info on this recorder:

Let me know if this of any interest.

p.s. the reason I don't need them is that I decided to go with a nanoFlash--HD capability and I am using for other applications outside Steadi.
