It probably won't compete with a full-on dedicated Steadicam monitor but for $1100 it has a lot going for it! I could not find anything related to NITS brightness but it does HD-SDI / HDMI / Component. I wonder if it would play well with the new Canon HDSLRs? It looks very nice up close, but I'm sure it sucks just as bad as most other lcd's in the daylight (the viewing angles on the 8" are a bit better...on paper). Tom Daigon Posted February 16, 2010 Report Share Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) I spoke to them today and they are introducing 2 new models at NAB, both with hd sdi inputs. When I encourage them to accommodate using AB batteries they said that wouldn't be implemented. They seemed generally to be targeted at the prosumer market. Premium Members Claus Stuhlweissenburg Posted February 22, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2010 I've owned a number of IKAN monitors and even though they might not be on the same level as a Transvideo or Nebtek they are a decent monitor as a back-up or for a teleprompter. I recently had an issue with one of their monitors in that the component aspect of the monitor was not working. Their customer support was phenomenal and they had the monitor back to me within a few days. As mentioned they are going after the prosumer market so they might not be looking to compete with the brighter, more expensive bells and whistles brand but its still a good value for the buck Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
larry bernardo Posted November 22, 2010 Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 Hey eveyone, new to the forum, im not a steadicam op but i operate and own a jimmy jib and have recently purchaced the ikhan vx9 monitor. my question is if anyone has run into problems while using it with the red. i did a job today and it kept flickering in and out tried 4 different bnc cables not sure if it was the battery i have the cannon set up they die real fast but it was fully charged. anyone ever run into the same problems or know a solution? thank you everyone for your time-larry bernardo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
