I will only own 4x3 monitors. It makes me feel one with all the bonehead pussy execs that obviously still watch tv on a set from the 80's because they make most shows protect 4x3.

 

on a slightly more serious note, can someone post a video of the cinetronic's bubble level moving around to see how it is dampened (if at all)? I am glad it zooms as I like a smaller image (which might be also be accomplished by how far away the yoke can put it)

After operating off a PRO green screen monitor, I went with the 4:3 monitor for the brightness but also the comfort. I'm sure we've discussed it to death, but I just feel like having a smaller image to operate from helps me compose the total image, corners and all.

 

Likewise, I was expecting the 4:3 monitor to display the 16:9 image with space on top and bottom later to be used by the bubble level's integration. Sounds like this is the case, in which I am pleased.

Unless I'm missing it in the menu somewhere, the monitor only zooms IN, not out. If someone knows how to get a zoom out, please let me know.

check the menu for custom sizing:

 

Aspect Size >

Fill Screen : Enable full screen expansion for lower resolution

Fill to Aspect Ratio: Enable fill screen expansion for lower resolution

image according to aspect ratio (height or width)

4:3 : sizes image to 4:3 format

16:9 : sizes image to 16:9 format

16:10 : sizes image to 16:10 format

2.35:1 : sizes image to 2.35:1 ratio format

2:1 : sizes image to 2:1 ratio format

1:1 : displays the image in exact image resolution on the screen

without image expansion/reduction (pixel-for-pixel mode).

Custom Sizing* :

Normal

Underscan

Custom:

H Size

V Size

H Pan

V Pan

 

since the boland monitors use the same controller board and software, this should be available.....
