Moderators Janice Arthur Posted March 24, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted March 24, 2010 Hi all; A new thing is being released soon or in a couple of months. Cantor Fitzgerald, HSX, and Trend Exchange are going to be selling Movie Futures. So you know a movie is good or bad, because you were there? We can all bet on it now through a broker or directly. Futures, from the little I know, are like Options and a perfect way to make or loose a lot of dough very fast! (More of a reason to keep in touch with the Producer after its over!) Wonder if this is considered insider trading? You could spend a lot of time thinking about this one! JA

Andrew Stone
Janice, I can't help but think this would be considered the equivalent to insider trading if you were involved in the production. However, it seems the financial services industry often doesn't appear to be that concerned about these kind of matters until things go sideways on monumental scale. -Andrew

Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted May 9, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 9, 2010 Just another form of gambling (so is the stock market for that matter). Could be fun. ~Jess
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted May 11, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 11, 2010 Of course anyone working in the film industry is forbidden from trading. I'm sure the studios won't be trading through subsidiaries...they're ethics are too high.
