shipping Li-Ion batteries

hi all. I have a job coming up out of town and use the Anton Bauer Dionic-160 along with the usual hc-90's. Because of rumored issues of shipping/flying with the larger Dionics I decided to send them via ground a week early to be safe.

I showed up at the Fed-Ex office armed with hazard stickers, print outs from the Anton Bauer website and bribe money. The Fed-Ex supervisor said as long as there were 4 or less in any given container they could ship it any way I choose (ground, 3 day, overnight, etc...). He even said the hazard stickers that warned of global thermal detonation were not needed -- this surprised me most of all since we now know that unstable li-ion batteries are what wiped out the Incas.

What a surprise. Did the regulations loosen up a bit or did I just get lucky and get the one Fed-Ex supervisor who didn't give a crap?

*Lisagav will always be illegal to ship, but can be purchased and any local place if ill-repute...including, and especially Jumbos Clown Room:

I don't think it was ever an issue with FedEx - just our wonderful passenger planes.

I was a bit paranoid because when I bought them, they came from Anton Bauer with stickers all over the box warning of certain doom. I'm happy to know it's no biggie!

Buying batteries from Red Digital Cinema will also lead one to believe they've just broken 11 commandments. RDC themselves won't even ship their batteries. Not even by ground.
