Premium Members Nils Valkenborgh Posted May 6, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 6, 2010 Long time since i've been on the forum, Thought i'd give a small update on things, for the first feature I ever had to work as a steadicam-operator i came to this forum for advice and I just wanted to say thank you to all the good tips and tricks that I got from all of you. The movie "Little Baby Jesus Of Flandr" was the title of the feature (original "Waar Sterre Bleef Stille Staan"), it was made on a budget of €7000 (me nor any of the technical crew made any money off of it but it was worth it for the experience alone). a couple of weeks ago the D.O.P rang me up with the fantastic news that this movie was nominated for two awards at Cannes, "Quinzaine des Realisateurs" and "Camera d'Or". So thanks again to all who gave me advice on operating. Maybe I'll meet some of you next week at the festival (if Cannes isn't still flooded by then) I'm there from may 13 to probably may 16. Included are some pictures of the set, one of my (then) unmodified steadicam, the other ones are of me holding the camera for a newspapershoot (the D.O.P Hans Bruch Jr. was happy enough to hold a big piece of white styrofoam) Check out the trailer, it's a really cool movie
