Dave Bittner
Anyone have current contact info for Jerry Jacob? I've got a shoot coming up in New Orleans that I'd like to hook up with him on. Thanks! Dave Bittner 410-381-8555
Dave Bittner
Got it from the Steadicam-ops pages. Nevermind... ;)
Dave Bittner
Anybody heard from Jerry? He's was in New Orleans, and I'm hoping he got out of dodge.
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 3, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 3, 2005 You were reading my mind, Dave. I emailed Jerry yesterday and haven't heard back yet. I know he lives in Metairie, so I fear the worst for his house. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted September 7, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 7, 2005 Folks-- Jerry and family are fine and out of harm's way. Disposition of office and Steadicam are unknown at this time. For those who may not know, Jerry is one of the pioneers in our profession having purchased Model 1 number 007. He was even issued an ID card from CP stating just that. He is a dear friend and top shelf gentlemen. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and local friends and neighbors during this time of trial. Best, Brant Fagan, SOC
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 7, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 7, 2005 So glad to hear. I'd left him a message on the cel phone also but knew that the service was still out, so...

Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted September 9, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 9, 2005 Folks-- Jerry and family are out of harm's way. House received only an inch or two in the office/garage. Utilities should resume in 1-2 weeks. Steadicam was on a truck for a MOW and supposedly is en route to Dallas. Status unknown. Jerry is greatful for concern and thanks everyone for caring. Best, Brant
Jerry Jacob
Hey everybody...!! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to the posts inquiring about me... I forgot my login and password info....!!! I deeply appreciate the inquiries as to my well being... As Brant posted here, I made it though OK, in fact better than most in this area. I had some minor damage to one room in my house with two inches of water, some roof damage, fences down, etc. Compared to what I've seen over these past weeks, I am incredibly lucky. Charles, I've tried to call you back a couple of times but the telephone situation here is still unreliable. Hopefully by this weekend I can reach some of you guys... Before Katrina I'd been really busy working on a number of movies and TV movies in New Orleans, as we (had) a burgeoning film thing going here. Operating and Flying my rig... even got to DP a couple of small HD 24p projects. Since Katrina I've shot a lot of video about the aftermath of the storm, so, while I'vve been busy, I am pretty overwhelmed with all the destruction I've witnessed. However, I'm hanging in there, and really glad to hear from my friends and coleagues in the biz... SteadiJJ (Jerry)
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted October 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 Cheers Jerry, so glad to hear your property damage was minimal. It must be indescribable to tour the aftermath in the city. Tonight we watch concerned as that massive storm Wilma heads towards my girlfriend's parents in Florida--what an unbelievable season this has been. Look forward to talking to you, Charles
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted October 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 Both of my parents are still having repairs done to their houses from the series of storms last year. Maybe Wilma will just sit in the gulf and fizzle out.....
