Hi, from Europe.

 

On thursday 17th, will be the 15th anniversary of the Ted's Tree.

All around the Steadicam planet, everybody, one day or other, heard about him.

Some of his friends, with Jack, his twin, have opened a page on Facebook :

TED CHURCHILL STEADICAM OPERATOR MEMORIAL

 

As we were very close,

and speaking him a few days before the Tragedy,

unable to help him to avoid it, so far,

I miss, so painfully, my American Friend.

 

Would people they knew Ted, from Rockport to London,

from NYC to München, from Camden to Paris,

contribute to this very simple Memorial?

Hi all. I regret that I never had the opportunity to meet or even see Ted Churchill work in person, but I feel connected to him through the noble instrument. They say Garrett invented the steadicam, but Ted invented the operator. He left our world 15 years ago today. I remember hearing the news and being deeply saddened, as I'm sure many of you were too. So today/tonight raise a glass to Uncle Teddy -- a true one of a kind.

Hi Ron,

 

Actually I started my reply to this Topic like 2 or 3 hours before I pushed the "Add Reply" button, then I saw that you created your topic, during that time I was chatting with Ted's best friend, Chuck Aube, on Facebook and doing other things at home.

 

As you I am part of the "shit, I never met Ted Churchill" group of operators...

 

But he was and still is a great inspiration.
