Hey Guys,

We are holding a second practice session next Wednesday June 30th at 12:00p.m. This practice session is open to any operator that wants to come out and work on their craft. This is a great opportunity to advance your operating, try on different gear, and to socialize with other local operators. No matter if you're newbie or a veteran of Steadicam, you are welcome to use this time to work with the resources you have available. Bring any kind of gear you would like to test or just come lend a hand.

The session will be at the Hollywood Heritage Museum across from the Hollywood Bowl on Highland ave in Hollywood, CA. The museum is well known as the first major studio ever in Hollywood back in 1913, created by Cecille B. DeMille, Jesse Laskey, and Sam Goldwyn. We will have full use of the facility inside and out. All gear must be set up on the deck or the grass in the front. Please bring water for hydration. Assistants and actors are welcome to participate as well. Practice at your own risk. Please no children or animals.

There will be a gathering after words at 5:00p.m. for food and drinks at a local restaurant. A place will be determined at the end of the practice session. Any suggestions are welcome.

There is a $5.00 donation for every person that attends. This goes towards facility use without hassle from the city, use of parking lot (for Rickshaw and vehicle mounts), admission to museum (which is awesome!), and you get to contribute to an organization that has helped save what is left of Old Hollywood. The best part of the museum, the camera that Charlie Chaplin used to film The Gold Rush (1925) is on display!! So amazing! Please come and participate!

Great timing, even though I've been operating(rented rigs) for the last year, I just purchased my rig this sat... would be great to meet/talk to other ops and get some practice in my new rig. Still trying to get the vest to fit just right...

Funny enough, most of my steadicam work has been in 3D, maybe for the next one I can arrange to bring a 3D rig (p+s freestyle/2 ex3's) for people to try out. (I have some pull with some of the 3D companies I work with)

See you on weds! Thanks for organizing this!

Thank for the informative and fun day.

Was great to try out the Cinerover, the 8Ball rickshaw and Ron's transporter (forgot the name) all right after one another. Gave me some good insights into the benefits and differences with each.

here some cell phone pics....

Everyone checking out the rigs....

had a great time catching up and playing with rickshaws. I think I spent most of the time talking about race cars and fabrication with John from 8ball. Fun to see other rigs and finally get to play a little bit with an action cam. The museum is really cool, I will go back and explore when I have the time to spend a few hours looking at all the books and pictures.

As I'm on the market for a rickshaw, would love to hear impressions from ops that had chance to try both the 8ball and the Cinerover as they are on top of my list and in the same price range.

Versatility? Weight? Etc.....

Any input will be highly appreciated!!!

Best
