Hey Roger, you may find this link usefull:

http://www.8ballcamerasupport.com/home.html

You can also ask D. A. Grove, he has one made by himself.

Hope it helps

F

Very nice looking rickshaw, but several factors (I could be wrong - since I'm going by pictures only) make me believe that the rickshaw will not stand upto really hard use particularly on bad surfarces.

The best one I have used to date is Larry McConkeys. David Allen Groves rickshaw looks really solid as well. Have never used it, but there are tons of testimonials on his website. Tried and tested ... and thats really important.

Regards

Believe I found a thread containing a shot of [ Larry's rickshaw ].

yep, that's the one!

Made of speedrail so it can be changed up to suit the shot and torn down for shipping. The genius of it is that there is clearance under the garfield mount via an offset for the rear of the sled (so you don't have to push the rig far out). It sits in a comfy position like you are wearing it. I have one partially built (waiting on Modern Studio to finish the top plate) but I used different wheels. Larry has done extensive testing with different wheels so not sure if he uses the industrial bike tires anymore.

Hi Guys,

Ok.. I am here to answer any questions you may have on my Rickshaw.

As per the remark on will it handle rough terrain it is all billet aluminum .750 thick

held together with 3/8-16 bolts the axles are 20mm through axles from a down hill mountain. I use to build offroad cars and stock cars it will hold up. I will have it at the Steadicam pratice session on June 30th for any and all too test drive. Any other questions I would be happy to answer.

Thanks John

Glad to hear that John,

I based my opinion on the vertical bolted machined brackets. It is a great looking, clean design.

Did Larry start selling his Rickshaw designs in the end?

He plans to sell them. First he has to get round to making them. Like all his other great designs (amazing windshield - like nothing I have seen before) he never has time to manufacture.

He finished Shutter Island, then straight onto Eat,Pray,Love and now hes just started on Scorsese's new film, filming in London. I think you might have a long wait.

If you are based in London, maybe you can drop by and see him. He has his rickshaw with him.

I will send you his details if you want to drop by.
